Forward starboard
17/03/12- St Patrick's Day :)

The wind died on us late afternoon, yesterday, so reluctantly all square sails were handed at 1700hrs. We had a calm starry night with the odd shooting star and aircraft tracking across the sky that being the only action to report. At present we are gliding through calm empty ultramarine seas, we have seen not a single vessel since leaving the BVI, just the odd whale spout, and floating carpets of Sargasso weed. We are presently off the island of Hispaniola. We have a pesky Irish pixie or two on board who have been taking liberties with our red ensign, they took it down and replaced it with a tri-colour! The wee green men will be celebrating tonight after they have been allowed off the naughty step.

(It is the Pesky Irish Pixie that edits these blogs, little does the author know. It is also he that gives out the toilet cleaning jobs throughout happy hour :) For your information the tricolour is flying high and proud on top of the main mast in honour of St Patrick. As I was typing screams were heard outside of a whale off the starboard bow, and so it was! A large whale and a pod of dolphins put on a ten minute display, a magical sight for Paddy's day, pity they didn't deliver any magners though :)

Happy St Patricks day to all, especially Tilly Rose!

Over and out!
