Back to the ship update blog
17/05/12 - Lord Nelson
Dated: 21/05/2012
Thursday 17th May.
We awoke to a fine morning in Cherbourg. Ignoring the Titanic Museum, most of the crew headed for the bars and restaurants.
Returning to the ship at 10pm it was sweet to see Sarah and Alexa having a 'pic nic' by the Foremast in the dark, banished there by W/L Rod. With nibbly bits) from Supermarket.
On the 4am to 8am harbour watch, Aft Port's Rachel/Jennie/Em and Martin had fresh croissants, thanks Martin.
Graeme and Lesley have dyed their hair pink and are demanding money. Lesley was horrified to be told 'it suits you'.
Mid afternoon we have 10 sails set, real sailing.
My watch-Aft Port- has asked me to say a particular thanks to Dave the cook (not forgetting his able assistant and wine quaffer Uncle John).
Martin is busy putting voyage crew photographs on a CD. £5 for the CD helps JST and is a great memento. For anyone asked to do a talk it is a great source of vivid pictures of life on board. It shows the good work JST does.
Don't forget to ask for a donation if you do give a talk.
It is amazing how many voyages people have done, W/L Peter 49, Ken 31, the record is about 100.
AT 6pm we have a fine view of the Needles and Tennyson Down on the Isle of Wight and will anchor soon for the night.
We get back to Southampton tomorrow having packed two good periods of sailing, lots of training and a visit to Cherbourg into 4 nights at sea.
