18/01/12 - Lord Nelson
Dated: 18/01/2012
Hi Charlie here, well after extensive training and preparations we were on our way- never been sea sick before... don't know why my body decided to let me down this time- but after consultation from the the ships medical staff, I was up and on my way back into the company of excellent friendly crew and shipmates- its been a great experience so far - good sailing (we reachd 9,3 knots just befor midnight last night) and it has been an exciting sunny days sailing again todoy. Oh look! There's a school of dolphins everybody!
Lesley, the bosun, decided that we were enjoying the sunshine too much, so came up with brasso to polish all the plaques on the bridge.....dazzling !!
So, after an afternoon of wonderful sunshine, it's 16.00 and Captain John is going to give us a talk on square rig sailing in the lower mess.
We then have a second evacuation drill, and are on target for dinner. Rosie and Dave are rustling up something spicy as I type ! There should be more takers tonight, as the sea is kinder and we've grown sealegs !
So now you know what you are missing now - hope it's not too grey and cold where you are - book your voyage soon !
The Nelson sailors !
