Aft Port watch report for Sunday 18 Sept.
Today was saw quite an unusal event in the annals of daily life. We were moving along quite nicely under the watchful eye of Chris (Mate) Officer of the watch, when our watch leader Dai was struck down a vicious attack of Mal de Mer. His breakfast finished up near to home on the Pembrokeshire Coast, and his lunch somewhere in Cornwall. Being really under the weather he sought permission from Chris to leave the bridge for the remainder of the watch (6.30 to 8am). We think it is a first but Paul (A frequent JST
Voyager) was immediately promoted to Watch Leader until Dai resumed normal service around tea time. Some hearty jokes being bandied around at DAI's demise. Voyage crew eagerly await arrival in Jersey am 19/09. Some intricate manouvres have taken place during sail setting- up and down- and a very successful 'wearing ship' in a wind thought to range between force 6 TO 8, and heavy seas. We are confident Captain Simon was impressed with the slick operation. Winds are now moderating to ease us into Jersey around 10am
on the morrow. Aft P Watch.
