We had some lovely, gentle sailing in the sunshine all this week, much more to everyone's liking than the nasty, cold stuff we were doing a couple of weeks ago! We sighted Lanzarote's mountain peaks late Wednesday afternoon and came in alongside the old port in Arrecife on Thursday, just in time for a late lunch. By mid afternoon the ship was deserted as everyone dashed off ashore. The ship was deserted at dinner time with just the two duty officers left aboard, everyone else having found a bar or restaurant to eat in. A few evidently struggled to find the right bar and therefore continued a thorough investigation of all likely prospects for quite some time afterwards! Most of this morning was spent on assisted climbs, but almost everyone had gone off exploring by 1100. We're staying here tonight, then sailing for Las Palmas tomorrow.
