We arrived in Portsmouth after a rough ride at sea on return passage from Dieppe, during which a proportion of the voyage crew lost weight by feeding the fishies. :( Fortunately, the weather improved before the final portion of the trip, leaving positive memories fresh in everyone's minds. :) On Thursday, we had a day full of maintenance, chipping and painting the railings on the poop deck as it was in need of some serious TLC. The weather was beautiful and some of us caught a little bit too much sunshine.
In the evening we had a rather large PR event for which our incredible cook Hammie, made over 600 canapes!!! We feel that the evening went well. Friday was also lovely, so the BM's spent most of the day up the main mast replacing the safety wires on the course. :) Due to the fact that so much had been achieved during the day, the crew decided to knock off early and have a go on the mini kiddies tugs which are near the pontoon. El Capitano chose the aircraft carrier (which was a bit slower than he had expected) while our an actual tug and blasted around, as well as trying to tug people along behind her... :D Needless to say, she won the race! All in all everyone had a great time even if they didn't actually partake in the event (it was rather amusing to watch!!!)
