Back to the ship update blog

19/09/11 - Tenacious

Dated: 20/09/2011

Monday 19 September.
After two days of force 6 to 7 winds and bumpy seas, with at least two members of the watch spending the time in their bunks and others refusing even Graham's food, we were on watch from 2000 to midnight in beautiful conditions last night. The stars were bright and the moon shone on the port bow. The wind moderated to force 5, on the port quarter after we had enjoyed wearing ship. This is what we came for! The morning saw Jersey ahead and at 0930 the pilot came aboard. By 1100 we were moored and ready for smoko and a Happy Hour. All those previously threatening to never come sailing again were up, enjoying breakfast and ready for many more miles aboard. Now we look forward to exploring St Helier. Our watch is sending the Liverpool party to find us the best watering holes and eating place. We hope that those on harbour watch later will be able to recognise the returning voyage crew!
