Under motor on a blue sea, under a blue sky - but sadly it's getting cloudier by the minute.
No significant sightings this afternoon, although several long tailed terns were spotted very far from home.
With an introduction to astro-navigation from the captain this morning and armed with sextants, the noon watch included a measurement of the sun's altitude. From these measurements we managed to correctly calculate the ship's latitude to within 2 miles. It's all much more complicated than simply looking at the GPS -
Meanwhile, our routine met office data has been collected, noting a sea temperature of 20degrees - Anyone fancy a dip?
