Guided by our Youth Leaders at Sea, we had an entire happy hour today! Kate enthusiastically brasso-d the mirror pipes in the heads, so they shone like the sunshine on deck! Some of the crew matched the whitework, such was the volume of suncream applied yesterday ! We unfurled some canvas for the first time this voyage, making it feel like a proper sailing expedition. The sea is still monastery-calm, providing welcome mental and digestive tranquillity for the crew but meaning that momentum is from the engine! Several powerful boats have whizzed past and made a giant wake. This evening we are looking forward to the enigmatic but powerful Engineer’s Beverage and a relaxed sunny barbeque on deck. Kate, Forward Starboard watch.
We have sailed into anchor at Stoke Bay , and are so near the beach that we were looking for our buckets and spades !The weather holds fine and I am opening the shop before BBQ time , so that everyone can dress in finest Lord Nelson kit . Several crew wish that they were staying on for the next voyage , and one has done just that , by booking onboard . It is great fun here in the sun … wish you were here !
