21/12/12 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 22/12/2012

I'ts 5.30 am and Aft Port on watch again since 4. A thousand stars which were looking after us have given way to a deep orange glow behind us in the east as the sun is about to bring daylight, and its absolutely beautiful.  We just wanted to share that with you. <> Alan, Chimpy, Judy, Brett, Kyle and Ruth x As the day went on we moved closer and closer to our first anchorage, an island called Ilhabela off the Sao Sebastio coastline. Another coup from our friends Vera, Yuri and Eduardo who seems to know all the Yacht clubs around here and Edison who lives across the bay. An amazing backdrop of rugged mountains, we anchored in a narrow sound of water known as the Canal de Sao Sebastio. On arrival we had to steer around a cruise liner that was also visiting and we anchored off the small town and yacht club that again is rather exclusive.. We are living the high life..
Eduardo, Yuri, Vera and the Captain went ashore to carry out the formalities and on return brought the news that the Yacht club are going to carry out all the tendering for us, we have all been granted temporary membership of the yacht club, so can use the facilities, pool etc. So planning is underway for excursions ashore tomorrow to include Snorkelling, diving, visits to the beach and inland to an amazing waterfall… more tomorrow..
