Dear Friends ashore...

We're enjoying a delightful Sunday at sea under a cloudless sky with gentle swell and steady high pressure. Engines off and sails hoisted we are making record breaking speed 0.3 knots. Signs of cetaceans disturbing the limpid blue waters, or was it hallucinations, one thing for certain there is a bit of flotsam on the port side (the rhyme of the ancient mariner comes to mind). Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink. Stephen says there are no sea birds around today- I think that we have only seen one so far.
Tonight's quiz is being met with great anticipation as is the backgammon competition if anyone knows how to play.
Good news received the sun is in the right place. Bad news... we're going backwards, see you for Christmas (maybe), who's willing to pay for the flights home??? Dan the helmsman fired for failing to enable us to make progress, hopefully by this time tomorrow we will be going forwards. Dan in his defence says 'I'm doing my best with the wind available - none'

Jo, Emma and Peter took afternoon sights, and agreed with Captain Barbara's results (almost) pretty good for a first attempt.
