Back to the ship update blog

23/01/13 - Tenacious

Dated: 25/01/2013

The early hours of the morning of 23rd January we had an amazing electric

storm with sheet lightening creating a well illuminated sky.

The sailing was good as we made our approach towards the island of Sardinia.

By 10:00 am the pilot boat arrived leaving the pilot on board to help bring

the ship in safely to the inner harbour of Cagliari.

Once the ship was all tied up and official  the crew relaxed and had a

coffee.

Soon after coming alongside assisted climbs became the order of the day.

Craig one of the voyage crew (who is always looking for a challenge)offered

himself to be pulled up in a wheelchair to the first plate form.

On his return to the deck he admitted it took a lot of courage and trust in

fellow voyage crew to allow himself to be pulled to such a height with no

real control in the proceedures

Once assisted climbs were over it was all ashore for a voyage photo

Not long after crew were putting on their glad rags for some time on the

shore.

One group of 2 watches had done their homework well and for 20 euros each

they had a running buffet and the wine was flowing.

So the day ended and harbour watches had to be manned and sleep was needed

before a new day.
