24/01/12 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 24/01/2012

Santa Catalina. The sun continues to shine on us, as we get Lord Nelson scrubbed up again, in preparation for the next voyage.
Yesterday saw the voyage crew 802 leaving us, and many thanks to them all for being such sports in the happy hour....maybe the bacon butties helped..? It was great that the last night meals, and farewells, had gone so well, and that many people are planning their next voyage with new friends.
So now it is laundry mountain time, and the usual many deck jobs, needle gunning for BMs, Kirsten and Katie, who flit from girlie to grimy in a flash ! They can even turn the dishwasher cleaning into a game!

Cookie Dave worked his magic, and rustled up a duck feast for eight guests last evening. They are very interested in the trust, and in our wonderful ships and voyages, and spent a jovial evening on board.
Chris has taken his position as our permanent Lord Nelson Captain now, and is enjoying his "penthouse" cabin!
Jon arrived yesterday to resume his position as mate, and the rest of us are here a while longer, which shortens the winter nicely!

So, back to the washing machine, and we'll update you on our progress. The haggis hunt has started in preparation for Burns night, which has tempted all of us to eat on board tomorrow night!

Jane, Med P.
