Day 3: Started off the day with a healthy supply of pancakes for breakfast. The next duty of the day was to carry out assisted climbs and wheelies aloft, where two of the crew’s wheelchair users, John and Janet took on the task of making it up to the first platform on the forward mast, whilst several other members of the crew climbed the main mast under the very helpful assistance of the permanent crew of Tenacious. Once the assisted climb was completed and after a well deserved 'Smoko’, tea, coffee and chocolate, 'Rocky Road’ cake, we were ready to depart from St Helier with the pilot aboard. Leaving harbour the ship made her way out and around the ocean going liner 'The World’ in bright blue sky and a very calm sea. Once clear of Jersey the crew were ready to set sail, with all square sails set. Very hard work but extremely rewarding, seeing the white canvas on the forward and main mast catching the wind.
All is well on board as Tenacious heads back to Poole.
