The sight ofthe southern 'urbs’ of Durban was greeted with mixed emotions of achievement atreaching our destination and sadness that for most on our watchthe party’s (nearly) over; intrepid Liz of mast-climbing fame – whom I forgot toboast is in our watch – is the only one 'Carrying On To India’; wonder if she’llmiss us?
This thereforeis the last 'blast’ from the bridge for AFT Port Watch, not named before asAllen (w/l), off home to leafy Surrey; Lyn & John, who will be 'reserving’with their sons; Chris, off home to prepare for a forthcoming trip to Lapland;Peter & Justin, our own Mr Beans, who will show us their 60’ ketch beforereturning to their menagerie at Schotia and last – but not least – the TerribleTwins, Ann and yours truly (Maggie) who go to join my husband, competing in aclay pigeon shooting competition in Cape Town, where we shall enjoy the relativebut boring comforts of a hotel before returning to the cooler climes ofEngland.
