Voyage LN8213 25/05/12

As Nellie sails under the Avonmouth Bridge
The end of the voyage is nigh
It’s time for us all, with a tear in our eye
To wave and say our goodbye.

We all came together from hither and yon
To sail the ocean so blue
From Southampton to Dartmoor, and Scilly to Lundy
We thought it may take us til Sunday.

We pulled on the Mainsail and slackened the Royal
We sent several folk up aloft
In wheelchairs they went, high up off the deck
Once up there they thought "what the heck?"

The food – it was plenty, much more than we ought
But eat it we did with much glee
The cakes that Dave made were tasty and yummy
What wonderful sights we did see

The nights in the bar were varied and noisy
The wine and the beer we consumed
With Frosty and Lofty and Graeme and Sam
These friendships could not have been planned.

So now it’s goodbye, or maybe farewell
As Nursey returns to her home
Back to the surgeons who know her so well
Who wondered "Oh dear, where’s she gone?"

Maybe I’ll return, I really don’t know
But thanks to you all, everyone
The folks I will miss – you’re all such good chaps
Happy hour should be 2 for 1 !!!
