After breakfast and happy hour we sailed off the anchor at approx 11 a.m. on a course of 240 degrees back to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Estimated time of arrival 1400 on Sunday 30/1/2011.
Weather at 1240 is slight rain with a wind speed of 15 kts.
Highlight of the morning was Carl's birthday which meant yet another huge cake from Dave.
As part of Dee's Leadership at Sea course she's spending all day in a wheelchair:- "It was a very hard task to get around the ship as I had to learn to roll with the boat. Also I had to be mentally strong to have the strength to keep going. I later had the challenge of being blind folded too. I found this harder than being in the wheelchair. I had no idea on who was around me, and felt that no one was there, so tended to isolate myself away from everyone else as i felt more comfortable. Both tasks have helped me see how people have to adapt and shown me the different strengths people use on the boat" - Dee Edworthy.
Downside for Alan was losing to Colin in hauling down the Topsail sheet, puny Welshman beaten by a mighty Englishman.
