After a hectic sail handling night for the Watches, we are approaching Aberdeen and all are ready at harbour
stations for our final destination this trip.
Over to Fred for yesterdays news... Oh dear it’s almost the end of the voyage. It’s gone so fast. We sailed off the berth in Kirkwall yesterday, which was great. We sailed to the east as far as we could then handed sail to motor south. Last night we anchored off Wick then today set lots of canvas including the t’gallant the Bosun and BMs put in place and are heading for Aberdeen. Everyone has been fishing off the stern platform and Dave the cook added an additional course for dinner, grilled mackerel. It was wonderful. There are dark n stormies in the bar for those partaking this evening and corny jokes from the usual culprits. It has been a splendid trip and some great friendships have been made and some of these will endure for a long time. There are several who are already talking of sailing again. It was sad that the people of Shetland had worked so hard to make the Tall Ships visit special and this was marred by the weather but the warmth of their welcome was exceptional. Another fantastic voyage. Another on the cards soon. Watch this space. Best wishes to all our new shipmates.
