Hi everyone, second day on the ship and everything is good. Yesterday we left Canary wharf at 15.00 and motored down the very scenic, themes river.
We then anchored off South End at about 19.00. It was an early start for me this morning as I was up at four o'clock to start anchor watch. It was a bit tiring but we got to watch the sun rise, a rare delight!. The visibility through the day was not the best but we managed to get the sail up anyway.
Some others from my watch and I have just climbed to the very top of the main mast, a major adrenaline rush!! Next, is some helming, which I am looking forward to, I never thought as a 16 year old that I would get to steer a ship of 586 tonnes!!! As I write this we have all of our square sails set and are bound for Dieppe.
