After a briefing from the Captain, we backed the sails to sail off our beautiful anchorage in Les Saintes and managed to stay clear of nearby rocks in the process! Happy hour and smoko then followed and the wind stayed relatively light as we sailed North up the West coast of Guadeloupe.
A relaxing afternoon was had by all in the light winds and more sails were set until all five square sails on both masts as well as the spanker and three head sails were being used.
By evening we passed to the East of Montserrat to ensure we stayed clear of the 'Volcanic Activity Exclusion Zone' shown on the chart! Evening entertainment was provided by the Medical Purser and his guitar - including a special cover of Elton John's 'Your Song'!
The wind was steady overnight with the speed getting up to 9 knots and although there were a couple of rain showers the weather stayed calm into Sunday. After Happy Hour and of course smoko it was hands aloft to stow the Main Course and Spanker before lunch - another action packed day on the Tenacious! I hope St Barts is ready for us.
