30/03/2011 - Tenacious

Dated: 31/03/2011

Average 7 knots, wind SW force 6 good sailing. But something was afoot. Items disappeared, cardboard, sellotape and paper became impossibl e to find. Was it the build-a-boat escape committee, or the forward p ort watch tunnel team. No, it was the flying egg contest.

All thoughts of sails and ropes were postponed. Numerous machines to protect an egg in flight over the decks were constructed. A porridge filled flying pig, a chicken, a parachute bomb, a sophisticated devic e with air bags borrowed from the ship's medical centre (the mind boggles) and a flying sandal appeared on the launch platform ( main mast lower top). 3 eggs survived whole; which were broken on the team leaders and one for good luck broken on the Captain. The winners .. forward port (at last glorious)! Then, overnight a lively sail that contin ues. All are well.
