30/04/12 - Tenacious

Land Ahoy! The islands of Flores and Corvo are in sight allaying fears that all land and living creatures had disappeared off the face of the earth in the last few days. Arrival on the island of Faial is eagerly anticipated tomorrow afternoon. Dolphins have joined us in our celebration at the sight of land giving us one of their best shows yet. Yards are braced in anticipation of northerly winds however the appearance of the outer jib lasted about 30 seconds as the wind decided not to play ball again.
As yesterday ended we enjoyed a Sunday lamb roast, I never knew sheep lived in the sea. As we came on watch that evening broken cloud and almost non existent wind as well as the dark threatening clouds round about made for a beautiful sunset and a perfect end to the day especially as it didn't rain on us.
