31/07/12 - Lord Nelson

Hello folks! We write absorbing the radiant Portugese sun on the fore deck of Nelly - in our customary tanning location! We will be into Cascais within a couple of hours and the majority of the crew are preparing for an afternoon on the beach, some gluttony and a few cocktails - or more!?! an hour or so ago, Euan was evicted from the ship for insubordination. However, whilst out there he happened upon Fred who, by chance, was having a dip in the vicinity - Fred was welcomed onboard as a hero for his rebellious attitude to the sea. Somehow Euan managed to slyly sneak back onboard during the celebrations.
However, the main highlight of the last 24 hours was our midnight to four watch! It is crunch time, when men are made or broken, without pain there can be no gain. We managed to survive under the defiant leadership of Jason who very kindly offered us his 'party animals' (which are not literal animals but high addititive sweets). Further entertainment came from the reborn crew of Pete and Sophie (I think the sweets are responsible), who started a game 'I went to the shop and bought...' which ended up becoming a marathon! After a long stint on the bridge, we finally were relieved and everyone jumped into their warm snugly beds to await sweet sleep. Thanks everyone for reading!
