So yesterday, youth leadership @ sea were set an amazing challenge. We had to get a bucket of water from the bottom of the main mast, up and across to the fore mast and down, safely. Let’s just say, we had a splash!
After this we went for a walk around the beautiful Brugge. Every other shop was either a chocolatier, gift shop or pub. We went into a pub and the toilets had amazing sinks with fish inside. It was almost worth the 50 cents to get in! Later on, (after a few of the local brew) we made our ways to the large square to find our watchleader and Watch for a meal. This was fab because we became friends rather than just watch. As a token of thanks to our watch leader, we presented her with a pair of chocolate breasts which she took in good spirits, and Chris commented that he was "looking forward to a nibble." After finding a bar selling beer for €1, the evening just got better and better. And, we all made it back to the ship by midnight and scoffed 2 loaves of bread between us!! One member of our watch, who will remain namless *ahem* Andy, struggled to navigate his way back to the ship.
This morning, needless to say, we were bright eyed and bushy tailed and well up to the voyage home. We are now sat looking dismally at Belgium, wondering how Andy EVER found his way back. We cannot wait for the next hilarious voyage for sadly we are homeward bound L we are due to arrive in Ipswitch at about midday tomorrow (unless we can plan a successful mutiny…)
P.S. Aoife is mint.
