- PRESS RELEASE - The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) is delighted to announce that on Wednesday 9th September, their magnificent tall ship S.V Tenacious will be open to allow groups of the Edinburgh public aboard to explore this unique vessel.
Arriving in Edinburgh on Monday 7th September from Oban, Tenacious will be sailing Edinburgh waters on Tuesday 8th September, before opening the gangway on the 9th.
During her open day, Tenacious will also be welcoming on board the members of Edinburgh Model Boat Club at 10am and the cast of Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates Pantomime, including Grant Scott, (DJ Forth One) at 4pm for a Photoshoot that will prove to be more than a little bit different.
Tenacious and Lord Nelson (Jubilee Sailing Trusts second tall ship), are the only ships of their kind in the world. Both have been specially adapted to allow a mixed ability crew to play a full and active role in every aspect of running a ship from helming and setting sails to the cleaning of the ship, known as ‘happy hour’.
For those interested in a voyage on a tall ship, the JST provides year round sailing adventures for all. These amazing opportunities give everyone the chance to sail regardless of physical ability or sailing experience.
