Tenacious to drop the gangway in Edinburgh

Dated: 01/09/2009

Come aboard for a tour of Tenacious

- PRESS RELEASE - Have you ever wondered what life is like sailing the Seven Seas on a 65metre tall ship? Well now’s your chance to sneak a peek on board.

On Wednesday 9th September Jubilee Sailing Trust’s (JST) working tall ship, Tenacious, will drop the gangway to allow members of the public the opportunity to explore.

Berthed in Ocean Terminal, Leith, Tenacious will be open 10am – 12pm and 2pm - 4pm showing all who come aboard the ways in which they can become part of her voyage crew.

Tenacious will have guides on board to explain all of the special adaptations that make her one of only two tall ships in the world capable of taking a mixed able bodied and disabled crew.

Specially fitted vibrating alarms, hydraulic power assisted steering and a talking compass, just some of the features that make it easy for anybody to become fully fledged voyage crew.

Jubilee Sailing Trust does not ask for any sailing experience or knowledge, simply a willingness to learn. For a fantastic insight into a unique experience that you could become a part of come down to the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s open ship.

Details about the JST all of the voyages that they offer will be available on the day, or by visiting the website www.jst.org.uk.
