The Buddy System
Everyone on board whether able-bodied or disabled are paired with an appropriate buddy.
If personal care, i.e. help in the bathroom is required, you will need to bring your own known buddy.

How to book
Book on-line via the website using the 'sailing’ and 'voyages’ tabs.
To use our online booking system you will need passport information and next of kin contact details in the event of an emergency on board. If you do not have a passport you will still be able to sail but please let us know and we will work around this. Whilst you do not need a passport to sail on a voyage which is not visiting a different country you will be required to bring photographic ID with you when you sail.

The process
Once you have confirmed your booking you will receive confirmation of booking via e-mail.
Dependent upon the information provided in your booking form, you may be required to complete and return a medical form. Our doctors here will assess your form and confirm they are happy for you to sail. They will also advise whether you require to bring your own buddy (for those requiring personal care).
Anyone with a significant past or present medical condition, a disability, or who is over the age of 70, will be required to complete a medical form.
Once you have had your booking confirmed via e-mail you will be asked to pay your deposit.

Cost and payment
The cost of each voyage is as posted on our website unless a specific in-country price has been issued.
A deposit of 25% of the full price will be payable.
The outstanding balance will be due for payment 12 weeks before the ship departs.
Fuel surcharge – All voyages are subject to a fuel surcharge, a one off payment dependent on the cost when we buy fuel. This can be paid at any time but will be requested with the final balance and is capped at £50.

Payments MUST be made in GBP/ £Sterling either via direct bank transfer or credit card, we will add a 1.5% bank charge for all credit card payments.
We will provide you with the rate of exchange and our bank details.
You can choose to pay the whole amount, including fuel surcharge up front to save on any charges you may incur through your bank if preferred.
The voyage price DOES NOT cover your travel costs to and from the ship but covers accommodation, all food and non-alcoholic beverages whilst on board.

Bursary funding
If you are from the country the ship is sailing from/to you may apply for bursary funding for the in-country voyages. You will need to tick the bursary funding box when you book on-line. You will receive a form asking a few questions including why you need the bursary. A bursary of up to 50% may be awarded. You do not need to pay any fees until you know how much bursary you have been awarded.
Anyone may apply for bursary funding irrespective of ability.

Insurance
Once you have paid for your voyage you will have to claim from your holiday insurance if you cannot sail and we therefore recommend you take out insurance as soon as you have paid your deposit. This insurance MUST cover you for 'tall ship sailing outside coastal waters’ or equivalent if you are purchasing insurance outside the UK.
